The Hammers were in for the 54-capped Norway international again in January according to The Telegraph.

The Sun claimed that West Ham were prepared to pay around £10 million for the attacker.

King eventually left Bournemouth and joined Everton on a short-term deal five months ago.

The 29-year-old has now been released by the Toffees, however.

So will West Ham go back in for King before the new season kicks off in two months time?

David Moyes may well be tempted to bring the Norwegian forward to the London Stadium. on a free transfer.

Josh King a good signing for West Ham?

First and foremost, Moyes should be looking to bring a top class, marquee name to the London Stadium this summer.

The Hammers should be spending big on an established goalscorer. There really aren’t any excuses not too.

Should West Ham not have enough cash to sign two strikers, however, then signing King on a free wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.

The 29-year-old is a very hard-working forward. He can play anywhere along the front-line and Moyes is clearly a big fan of the former Bournemouth front-man.

King still has a few years left playing at the very highest level at the very least.

Some West Ham fans may well turn their nose up at the 29-year-old.

We just think that signing the Norwegian hitman on a free transfer is somewhat of a no-brainer for Moyes before the start of next season. Especially given our financial constraints.
