West Ham boss David Moyes may well have his mind made up for him as a move to Arsenal allegedly appeals to Lazio ace Joaquin Correa.
The Hammers are keen to bring the 26-year-old winger to the London Stadium this summer according to Italy24News.
The Gunners are a preferred destination for Correa, however, according to a report from Corriere dello Sport (print edition, June 25th, page 23).
And that should be the final nail in the coffin for West Ham.
Firstly, the addition of another winger is surely at the very bottom of Moyes’s priority list this summer.
Secondly, Lazio want at least £26 million for the Argentinian ace. Certainly not ideal when West Ham have a transfer budget of only £50 million this summer (Claret and Hugh).
Joaquin Correa wants Arsenal move, West Ham decision made?
And that should mean that the Hammers are no longer in the race to sign Correa.
His price-tag and West Ham’s need to reinforce in other departments meant that it was a long shot anyway.
With Mikel Arteta keen to bring Correa to the Emirates and the South American allegedly set on a move to Arsenal, our hopes of signing him are now well and truly over.
That is a shame because the Lazio ace really is a truly top class talent.
The stage where we are at as a club at the moment will prevent us from making luxury signings. Certainly not in positions where we are fairly well-stocked already.

The West Ham fans need to be patient. Good times may well be on the horizon. For now though, we just have to accept that players like Correa may well be just out of our range.
