Jesse Lingard next for West Ham with David Moyes set for talks over return after Man United game

Having finally landed Kurt Zouma last night Jesse Lingard could be next for West Ham United.

That’s according to a new claim from West Ham insider ExWHUemployee.

West Ham finally got the Zouma deal over the line on Saturday evening with the Hammers announcing a £29 million move.

And now ExWHUemployee claims Lingard could follow close behind with Moyes set for talks with the 28-year-old after Man United’s game with Wolves on Sunday.

“I was also told that the Lingard situation is looking a lot brighter with Moyes hoping to meet with him tomorrow after the Wolves game to discuss signing for the club,” ExWHUemployee said on The West Ham Way Patreon site.

“(Cristiano) Ronaldo’s move to Manchester United has further decreased Lingard’s playing time and he is set to be seriously considering his future.

“Moyes hopes, with (co-owner David) Sullivan’s backing, to persuade him to join. A fee of £15m is being talked about but with other clause related payments in top.”

The news will delight West Ham fans who have been desperate to see Lingard return following his sensational loan spell last season.

The Hammers looked lethargic for spells in a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace yesterday.

And it is unfathomable that the club can go into a jam-packed season with European football without more options in attack.

Moyes has admitted he is finding it difficult to sign a striker.

West Ham need more options in attack

But Lingard played the second striker role to perfection last season and will be used in a similar way if he does rejoin West Ham.

JLingz – as he is known – was a hugely popular figure around the club and his presence will surely lift the dressing room too.

With the transfer window looming large Moyes will have to be sure he can persuade Lingard if talks do happen today.

If not then a number of alternatives, such as Nikola Vlasic, may come into the equation.
