West Ham failed to sign a striker during the month of January.

The Hammers are playing with fire heading into the second half of the season with Michail Antonio as our only senior centre-forward option.
It really is truly baffling that West Ham boss David Moyes decided not to bring anyone in having sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax early on in January.
We think there might be one simple reason why the Scot wasn’t given the funds, however.
David Sullivan will be more than happy this morning in the knowledge that he has escaped yet another transfer window unscathed.
Is this the real reason West Ham didn’t sign a striker?
The fact that there are no fans allowed in stadiums at the moment, and probably for the remainder of this season, surely played a huge part in Sullivan’s decision not to back Moyes.
We’ve all heard the £30 million budget rumours, but we’re not stupid. If Moyes did have that kind of money available to him it would have been quite frankly ridiculous not to strengthen his ranks this month.
We think that if fans were allowed inside stadiums, Sullivan would not have been so reluctant to splash the cash this month.
Can you imagine the backlash the West Ham co-owners would have received next time there was a match at the London Stadium? And during every single home game between now and the end of the season.
The atmosphere at the London Stadium would have been toxic.
Signing a striker on deadline day yesterday would not have made us forget about all the lies and broken promises over the past five years. It would have been a good start, however.
Sullivan instead opted for the cheap option. And at the moment, he won’t be held accountable for his actions.
Oh well, only another couple of years…
