West Ham United have been linked with a free transfer move for German World Cup winner Mario Gotze.
More woe for Moyes as striker appears to rule out West Ham move
According to a report from the Express, West Ham boss David Moyes is targeting a bold move for free agent Gotze.
Moyes is said to be scouring the loan and free transfer market having been told he has no money for signings (Claret & Hugh).
Gotze is one of the star names on the free agent list this summer.

West Ham want free agent World Cup winner
The midfielder, famed for scoring the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup final, has been linked with a move to West Ham for some time – initially by Sport Bild and The Evening Standard.
According to The Evening Standard the Scot scouted Gotze during the restart of the Bundesliga season last term.
Given his past pedigree – and despite injury concerns – Gotze’s availability on a free transfer will be the factor attracting West Ham the most.
German footballing legend Michael Rummenigge suggested Gotze could join West Ham in the summer, when writing his regular column for SPORTBUZZER.

Insider casts doubt on move for Gotze
But reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee has cast serious doubt on the speculation.
The anonymous Twitter and podcast personality says a move for Gotze is ‘very unlikely’ as Moyes is not looking for a creative midfielder at the moment.
“Haven’t had it confirmed but very unlikely (that we are in for Gotze),” ExWHUemployee said on Twitter.
“Club not looking for that type of player at the moment.”
Gotze is expected to move to MLS to join David Beckham’s new Inter Miami franchise – as previously reported on Hammers News.

Moyes transfer plans have gone up in smoke
It comes after Inter Miami moved to sign another free agent midfielder recently – Juventus and France star Blaise Matuidi.
It seems West Ham are not going to be signing anyone at this rate. Meanwhile their Premier League rivals are active in the transfer market.
Gotze does not fit the profile of a young, hungry player Moyes has said he wants to bring to West Ham.
But with no money to spend the Scot has seen his targets being snapped up by other clubs.
Sometimes beggars can’t be choosers. And West Ham are certainly getting desperate with the season just over a week away.
