Former West Ham star has recommended £20m striker to Hammers

West Ham owners David Sullivan and David Gold have somehow made themselves even more unpopular with the club’s frustrated fans.

The duo have told Moyes he has a zero transfer budget and must buy to sell this summer (Claret & Hugh).

As a result West Ham have missed out – or look set to miss out – on a host of David Moyes’s reported top targets.

Moyes is watching his transfer plans go up in smoke after a lack of backing from the owners.

Crystal Palace signed West Ham’s prime target (Evening Standard) Eberechi Eze for just £16million.

Shane Duffy looks set to snub the Hammers for Celtic.

Now it appears West Ham will miss out on a third striker target, Martin Braithwaite.

According to a report from Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, West Ham have been in talks with Barcelona to sign former Middlesbrough forward Braithwaite.

The report said a £16m fee was discussed. It comes after West Ham sold Albian Ajeti and Jordan Hugill for a combined £7.5m.

But despite the prospect of a lack of game time at crisis-hit Barcelona, Danish striker Braithwaite appears to have a ruled out a move.

“I have not thought about changing clubs, and I have not spoken to anyone about it,” as per a report from Marca.

“I am just thinking about preparing myself for next season with Barcelona. I’m hungry to stay here and win many titles.

“I see myself here a long time. I talk with my agent regularly and there has been no discussion about leaving.”

So there you have it West Ham fans, another one bites the dust.
