West Ham United insider ExWHUemployee has spoken out after a new twist in the club’s pursuit of Nikola Milenkovic.
West Ham were said to have been on the verge of signing Fiorentina defender Milenkovic earlier this week.
But despite countless claims that the deal is ‘edging closer’ West Ham are yet to land the Serbian centre half.
New Milenkovic twist as Italian outlet claims West Ham have upped bid to cover agent fees
The sticking point allegedly centres around payments to agents involved in the deal.
But it looks as though West Ham fans have been given false hope.
That’s after West Ham insider ExWHUemployee spoke out to deny claims a fresh bid has been made which appeases the agents involved.
Insider denies fresh bid and says Moyes is looking at other options
“A report has emerged that we have changed the pricing structure of the Milenkovic deal by offering a million more,” ExWHUemployee said on The West Ham Way patreon site.
“I don’t believe that this story is accurate. I have verified it by a couple of sources today as I was conscious the story may have came out since I last sought information.
“It appears not to be true and that the deal is still at deadlock, as of now the manager is looking at other targets. This could of course change again but this is the current play-my word what a frustrating window to report on!”
A lone loan but still time for Moyes to get deals done
West Ham will officially start the season without a single new face in their outfield squad.
Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola has been signed on loan with the option to buy. And Craig Dawson’s permanent move was activated last season.
West Ham allowed Fabian Balbuena to leave on a free transfer in the summer meaning David Moyes is short of options up front and at centre-back.
With 19 days left until the window closes there is still time for the Hammers to get deals done.
But the clock is ticking.
