So when reports broke last week that Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky is on the verge of buying a 27% stake in West Ham, supporters were pinching themselves.

Kretinsky has a net worth four times that of West Ham owners Sullivan and Gold.

And according to insiders Claret and Hugh – who are seriously well connected with the Hammers hierarchy – fans are right to be excited.

That’s after Claret and Hugh claimed West Ham are eyeing serious spending on serious players and soon thanks to Kretinsky’s impending investment.

“West Ham’s hopes of buying serious players at serious prices came a step closer today as lawyers on both sides of the deal continued trying to iron out details,” Claret and Hugh state.

“Daniel Kretinsky’s and Hammers’ legal teams are currently on the case and it could well be that the a result on whether the deal has been done or not will be revealed perhaps even earlier than the three weeks reported on this site last night…

“The plan – should the deal go through – is for the Czech league’s current second-placed club Sparta Prague to become a Hammers feeder club with the possibility of Kretinsky increasing his shareholding at a later stage.”

With new head of recruitment Rob Newman working closely alongside Moyes to identify the right players for West Ham, there could be seriously exciting times ahead.

The Scot may now be able to get his top targets and quickly when the opportunity arises in January.

Especially after admitting he may need ‘another Jesse Lingard’ to push West Ham on in the second half of the season (Evening Standard).
