West Ham United could now face competition from Liverpool for Juventus ace Aaron Ramsey in the summer according to a report from Calcio Mercato.

And if the Reds are really in for the 30-year-old, the Hammers’ hopes of signing him could be all but over.

David Moyes wants to bring the former Arsenal midfielder to the London Stadium this summer according to football journalist Nicolo Schira.

And now Calcio Mercato have backed up that claim.

The problem for West Ham, however, is that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to bring the 61-capped Wales international Anfield as well.

That’s according to Calcio Mercato.

Ramsey has been a top quality midfielder throughout his years in the game with Cardiff City, Arsenal and now Juventus.

It has to be said that his injury problems over the past five years are a huge red flag, however.

He is 30 as well – certainly no spring chicken.

West Ham face battle for Aaron Ramsey with Liverpool reportedly chasing him too

If Klopp wants Ramsey at Liverpool, however, it could be argued that the Juve ace still has a lot to offer at the very highest level.

Ramsey’s energy and stamina in the middle of park is second to none.

The Welshman has all of the attributes that David Moyes looks for in a player…apart from his age.

If Juventus are prepared to accept a reduced fee for Ramsey, he may well be a wise addition for West Ham.

Moyes could now face an unviable task, however, if he is to bring the former Gunner to West Ham.

If Liverpool make a concrete approach for the 30-year-old, there will surely be only one place he will be playing next season, and it won’t be the London Stadium.
