Huge West Ham boost, Napoli allegedly eye replacement for 'exceptional' Piotr Zielinski

West Ham have been handed a huge boost this morning with the news that Napoli are lining up a move to sign RB Leipzig ace Dominik Szoboszlai to replace Piotr Zielinski.

That’s according to a report from Italian publication Il Mattino who claim that the Hungary international is a dream signing for the Naples outfit but in order to make it become reality, they must sell Zielinski to the Hammers first.

Il Mattino suggest that Napoli would consider an offer of around £30 million for the 28-year-old attacking midfielder this summer.

That would be decent value for a player with the 72-capped Poland international’s quality in our book.

David Moyes has been trying to bring Zielinski to the London Stadium for the past week or so (Calcio Napoli 24).

And the Napoli ace is said to be ‘seriously considering’ a move to West Ham this summer.

Now it looks like the Hammers will have a great chance to sign him…

West Ham handed huge Zielinski boost

Il Mattino reckon that Napoli are now eyeing a move to sign 21-year-old future superstar Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.

And it is suggested that the only way the Serie A side will sign Szoboszlai is if they sell Zielinski to the Hammers.

This is a hugely positive update.

Hopefully Moyes manages to bring the Poland international to the London Stadium. He would be a truly terrific signing for the club.

The 28-year-old is undoubtedly a huge talent and has the kind of ability that would definitely take West Ham’s attacking play to another level.

Zielinski bagged eight goals and five assists in 42 games for Napoli last season and in the 2020/21 campaign, he racked up 10 goals and 13 assists in 47 games (Transfermarkt).

In 35 Serie A outings last season, the Poland international made 36.1 passes on average per game and recorded an impressive completion rate of 84.8%. He also made an average of 1.4 key passes per match (Who Scored).

Former Poland manager Paulo Sousa described the Napoli midfielder as ‘exceptional’ (The Guardian).

And if West Ham manage to sign Zielinski this summer, we really will be in dreamland.

In order for that to happen though, Napoli will need to sign Szoboszlai first.
