West Ham manager David Moyes faces a really busy summer transfer window ahead. The Rice saga will undoubtedly dominate the headlines, with a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs expected to happen for him.

According to a report from Corriere dello Sport (print edition May 30th, page 16), the Gunners are set to start talks with the agent of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic about a summer move to the Emirates.

It will be really interesting to see whether this is real interest from Arsenal, or if it is just a ploy to show West Ham that Mikel Arteta will move on to other targets if necessary.

Either way, the Lazio star is an incredible footballer, so it would not surprise me one little bit if Arteta wants him at the Emirates.

Football Italia recently described the midfielder as an ‘unstoppable’ player. Meanwhile, The Laziali label him as ‘world-class’.

Lazio value the Serbia international at around £60 million (The Sun), whilst West Ham allegedly want £120 million plus for Rice.

So it’s easy to see why the 28-year-old midfielder might appeal more to the Gunners.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think the Serbian is in the same league as the England international. The 24-year-old Hammer is on another level in my opinion.

However, it’s clear to see that Arsenal will not pay over the odds for Declan Rice, nor will they be prepared to let this transfer saga drag on all summer long. Oh well…if they miss out on Dec it will be their loss!
