The Valentin Castellanos era at West Ham United could be a fleeting one.
For many West Ham United supporters here in east London and beyond, Castellanos does not fully convince.
The Argentine, however, has scored five goals in 17 Premier League games since his arrival in January from Lazio and it’s difficult to imagine the club even being in a position to dream of survival had he not been signed.
Nuno wants to make YOU proud – so where do you think we finish in the table when all is said and done on Sunday?!
Certainly, Taty has helped improve West Ham, even if his lack of cutting edge is sometimes frustrating.
It’d be fair to say his spell clad in claret and blue has enhanced his reputation in the Premier League, which could eventually lead him out of the London Stadium.
Taty could push for West Ham exit if they are relegated on Sunday
Earlier this month, it was claimed that Castellanos does not want to play in the Championship next season.
ESPN Brazil have offered something of an update on that front. They claim that the forward believes the club will struggle to avoid relegation, which would mean his salary would reportedly drop.
Pretend you’re Nuno – what changes are you making ahead of Leeds? 👀
If anyone says keep the back five, I'll be shocked 😂
According to the report, a contractual clause could see his wages decrease by as much as 50%.
They add that the Argentina international is worried about that, while they also claim that the 27-year-old could push for an exit from West Ham in the event of relegation.

Castellanos stance predictable for West Ham United
Supporters clearly don’t want to hear the players who have got the club into this position – though Taty can be excused somewhat – potentially having eyes on moves elsewhere.
Still, that is sadly the grim reality of staring relegation in the eyes. It’s a natural byproduct of being in such a perilous position.
No one can doubt Taty’s commitment to the cause on the pitch at least. The forward does not stop running and he will no doubt be crucial to their chances of pulling off a great escape on Sunday.
What happens beyond that point, however, is uncertain.
