While neither Taty Castellanos nor Pablo Felipe got on the scoresheet for West Ham against Sunderland, Jarrod Bowen was eager to hail them.

The two new strikers have helped West Ham turn things around in recent games. They have brought with them fresh energy, helping Nuno Espirito Santo’s side press a lot more effectively.

Taty is already off the mark and Pablo has impressed, though neither player has yet scored a Premier League goal.

Still, after West Ham’s win over Sunderland, captain Bowen hailed their impact off the ball.

Jarrod Bowen shares how Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe have helped West Ham improve

Speaking to TNT Sports after a huge win at the London Stadium, Bowen hailed his new teammates.

He talked of how their energy has helped give West Ham a much stronger defensive platform, given their ability to press from the front.

Clearly, it would be nice to see either of them open their Premier League accounts, but the good results with them in the side cannot be much of a coincidence.

I like what I see but I’m not sure it has fully clicked just yet…

“We’ve kind of gone to a more of an old-school traditional 4-4-2 in the last couple of weeks with the two new strikers up front, and I think they’ve worked really well,” he said.

“I think their work without the ball especially has been really good. It’s given us a better kind of platform. We’re not as open and a little bit more compact.”

Taty and Pablo have just proven the Sunderland manager right

Prior to the Hammers beating the Black Cats, Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris spoke about Taty and Pablo.

He admitted that the recruitment of two new forwards helped the chances of the club bouncing back from a dreadful run of form.

While not to suggest they are the only reason for the turnaround in results, their impact cannot be overlooked just because they haven’t scored.

Neither look like prolific marksmen at this level just yet but there’s something to work with at least.

West Ham needed more energy and that’s exactly what they have brought into the ranks.

With the likes of Bowen, Crysencio Summerville and Callum Wilson scoring goals, they can still make an impact even without finding the back of the net.
