There’s been a breakthrough as Fabrizio Romano gives a third West Ham signing his famous ‘here we go’ seal of approval confirmation.

After a long, barren transfer window, West Ham are on the verge of sealing their third arrival of the summer transfer window in 10 days.

Midfield duo Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse joined the Hammers in deals worth a combined total of £64m.

West Ham have been linked with a number of deals since with talks ongoing for Ajax star Mohammed Kudus and Stuttgart defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.

Now an Italian transfer reporter with a well known catchphrase has delivered some good news for West Ham in his own trademark style.

There’s a breakthrough as Fabrizio Romano gives third West Ham signing his famous ‘here we go’ seal of approval confirmation.

Because Mavropanos is on his way to becoming a Hammers player with everything done ahead of a medical.

“Kostantinos Mavropanos to West Ham deal details,” Romano said.

“€20m (£17m) guaranteed fee, €5m (£4m) add-ons package, 10% of deal goes to Arsenal.

“Medical tests booked then time to sign documents. Harry Maguire deal, now definitely off.

“Here we go.”

To clarify Romano’s claims, it is actually 10 per cent of the profit Stuttgart have made on the deal which will go to Arsenal – as explained on Hammers News earlier this week.

The Greek centre-back was signed by the Gunners as 20-year-old but would only make eight appearances for them before eventually being loaned out and then sold on a permanent deal to Stuttgart for £4.5m.

So Arsenal will get around £1.65m of Stuttgart’s £16.5m profit.

Mavropanos was one of the best centre-backs in the Bundesliga last season, recording the most interceptions in the entire league.

He is very comfortable on the ball, five years younger than former Hammers target Harry Maguire and is a monster aerially – in both boxes.

The move to West Ham gives Mavropanos a second crack at the Premier League and he has all the attributes needed to be a success.

West Ham will now have a strong centre-back pool comprised of their new Greek star, Kurt Zouma, Nayef Aguerd, Angelo Ogbonna and Thilo Kehrer. And – if needed – Alvarez can play there too.
