Liverpool could try to sign RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka this summer according to Salzburger Nachrichten. So the question must be asked: Have West Ham United missed the boat?

The Hammers wanted to sign the 22-year-old back in January according to The Mirror and Area Napoli.
And Salzburger Nachrichten reckon Daka will cost around €20 million (£17 million) this summer.
West Ham should have got a deal done for the Zambia international in January, however.

Daka has racked up 33 goals and eight assists in just 33 games this season! (Transfermarkt).
The 22-year-old’s fine form has piqued the interest of Liverpool according to Salzburger Nachrichten.
And if Jurgen Klopp does make a concrete move to bring Patson Daka to Anfield in the summer, the Hammers will surely regret not having snapped him up during the winter transfer window.
Have West Ham missed the Patson Daka boat with Liverpool lurking?
The Zambian possesses exceptional movement and has blistering pace.
He would have been the absolute ideal addition to David Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium.

So why on earth didn’t West Ham push harder to sign him in January?
It was so obvious that if he continued his fine form, some of Europe’s bigger clubs would begin to take notice. And that’s exactly what has happened.
Liverpool chasing Daka is a nightmare scenario for the Hammers.
Despite West Ham’s fine campaign this season, the Reds still have a far greater pull. If the choice for Daka is between West Ham and Liverpool this summer, it is fairly obvious where he will end up.
And if the RB Salzburg ace does end up at Anfield, we will only have ourselves to blame, having failed to strike whilst the iron was hot.
