Newcastle eyeing up move to sign West Ham target Duvan Zapata
Corriere di Bergamo claim that the Magpies have entered the race to sign the 34-capped Colombia international.
We all know how troublesome Newcastle have become for West Ham in transfer market.
And if they beat us to the signing of Zapata it would be a really big blow to stomach.
The 31-year-old striker, described as ‘deadly’ by talkSPORT, will be a superb addition for whichever club wins the race for his signature.
Zapata was in fine form in Italy last season, racking up 13 goals and seven assists in 32 games for Atalanta. He also boasts a decent career record of 150 goals in 388 games (Transfermarkt).

The South American hitman seems to possess all of the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.
Zapata stands at 6ft 2in tall, and possesses an impressive build and physique. He is strong as an ox and has pace in abundance.
The Colombian has experienced numerous problems with injury though. He suffered an adductor injury during the second half of last season and missed around three months of action.
Forza Italian Football claims that Atalanta want around €40 million (£33 million) for the 31-year-old.
It appears as though signing Duvan Zapata might be mission impossible for West Ham though with moneybags Newcastle now eyeing up the Atalanta hitman.
