West Ham United are allegedly desperate to get a deal for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana over the line as soon as possible.

That’s according to a report from French publication Foot Mercato who claim that the Hammers will lodge a second bid for the 20-year-odl starlet within the next 48 hours.

Hammers boss David Moyes has been consistently linked with a move to bring Onana to the London Stadium over the past month or so.

Central midfield is clearly an area where Moyes really wants to bolster before the transfer window slams shut.

Flynn Downes has already been brought into the club but the Scot clearly wants more.

And it seems as though Onana is Moyes’s main transfer target…

Foot Mercato claim that the Hammers ‘really want to sign’ the 20-year-old this summer.

It is suggested that the East London outfit are lining up a second bid for Onana within the next 48 hours.

We think that West Ham just need to get this one done as a matter of urgency.

Premier League football begins again in just five day’s time and our squad is painfully short of numbers and quality.

The 6ft 5 in Belgium international possesses all of the attributes that West Ham currently lack. He is incredibly strong, has energy and stamina in abundance and is perfectly built for the intense nature of Premier League football.

Onana would certainly provide strong competition and cover for Tomas Soucek and at just 20, he has an incredibly high ceiling.

In 32 Ligue 1 outings for Lille last season, Onana averaged 1.5 tackles and one interception per game. He made 20 passes on average per match and recorded a completion rate of 84% (Who Scored).

Onana is a really special talent. He has been described by Sport Magazine as a ‘sensational’ young player. Meanwhile, he’s been labelled as an ‘incredible’ player by Total Football Analysis.

The young Belgian is one of the most exciting talents on the planet.

Considering his quality and potential, anything around £35-40 million would represent a good deal for the Hammers.

Whether the West Ham board will be prepared to pay that kind of money for Amadou Onana this summer remains to be seen though.
