West Ham are reportedly keen on signing Nottingham Forest striker Arnaud Kalimuendo in the January transfer window.

With Niclas Fullkrug set to leave West Ham, Nuno Espirito Santo is keen for the board to sign a new striker in the coming weeks.

Callum Wilson has also not been a regular starter, with the Portuguese making it clear that a new number nine is the need of the hour.

Paris FC also want to sign Arnaud Kalimuendo

According to Jeunes Footeux, the Hammers are not the only team keen on securing Kalimuendo’s services.

French club Paris FC are also interested in signing the 23-year-old forward in the winter window.

Kalimuendo grew up in Paris, as he was a part of the PSG academy, and they want to capitalise on that and lure him to the club.

Forest are also unwilling to strengthen a direct relegation rival, making Paris FC the favourites to land him in January.

However, West Ham are still continuing their pursuit to sign the forward and it remains to be seen if they can convince him to move to the London Stadium.

How will Kalimuendo fit in at West Ham?

Signing Kalimuendo will come with a big risk as he struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest.

He was signed for a staggering £26million from Rennes in the summer and has managed to score zero goals in eight league appearances.

The French striker has not even started a single match in the English top flight – making this a risky signing for West Ham.

However, if they have done their research on him and are confident that he can be the difference maker, there is an argument for him being the archetypal Nuno striker.

Kalimuendo is quick and incisive and is capable of running in behind defences and making the most of space in the final third.

He works extremely hard off the ball and can help close down defenders to disrupt them when building out from the back.

Last season, he bagged 17 league goals in 33 appearances, so it could be that Forest are unable to utilise him effectively.
