Fabrizio Romano has issued a surprise update on Hugo Ekitike after talks with Tim Steidten over a West Ham move.
Earlier this week West Ham legend Sir Trevor Brooking called on David Moyes and Tim Steidten to sign players who can bring goals to the team.
When Sir Trev talks on West Ham matters, you listen. And it seems Hammers boss Moyes and technical director Steidten have done just that.
West Ham are now on the verge of signing exciting Ajax attacker Mohammed Kudus, who signed off at the Dutch club with a hat-trick last night.
Moyes has told the press he wants to sign two more players before the summer transfer window shuts next week.

And the Hammers are rumoured to be in talks with strikers such as Youssef En-Nesyri and Hugo Ekitike.
According to Foot Mercato yesterday, Steidten has now spoken directly with Ekitike after holding positive talks with PSG director Luis Campos about bringing the jet-heeled French forward to West Ham.
But now Fabrizio Romano has issued a surprise update on Ekitike after talks with Steidten over a West Ham move.
Speaking on social media, the Italian transfer reporter says PSG are now confident of signing Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani.
In normal circumstances that would be good news for West Ham’s hopes of signing outcast Ekitike – who would be pushed further down the Paris club’s pecking order as a result.

But Romano says in actual fact Ekitike could now join Frankfurt as part of the deal instead.
“Paris Saint-Germain and Eintracht are optimistic on reaching an agreement for Randal Kolo Muani,” Romano said.
“Talks continue as Eintracht are looking for a replacement and Hugo Ekitike still discussed as an option between clubs.”
That development may now see West Ham go all out to sign En-Nesyri from Sevilla.
ABC Sevilla is reporting West Ham can pick up Morocco striker En-Nesyri for just €25 million (£21.4 million). That would represent an absolute bargain for the Hammers.
With money thin on the ground for West Ham after striking the deal for Kudus, Hammers News has outlined a solution for the east Londoners to get a deal done for the Morocco international.
