Fabian Balbuena said that he will sit down with the West Ham hierarchy to discuss a potential new contract in the coming days, when speaking to Versus Radio, relayed via La Lazio Siamo Noi.

The 29-year-old is out of contract with the Hammers in the summer.
Balbuena joined West Ham from Corinthians in the summer of 2018, for a fee believed to be worth £6.5 million, according to Sky Sports.

The Paraguay international made a fine start to life at the London Stadium but his form dropped off last season.
The 29-year-old returned to somewhere near his best this term when he forced his way back into the side after Issa Diop was ruled out for two weeks with Covid.
Fabian Balbuena suggests West Ham talks are imminent
And now the Hammers have a big decision to make. Do they offer the centre-back a new deal or let him leave for free, getting his £45k-a-week wages (Football League FC) off the books in the process?
Balbuena has suggested that his future with West Ham could be sorted out imminently, as quoted by La Lazio Siamo Noi:

“I never received anything from Lazio, I only read the rumours on social media. Certainly, in the coming days we will sit down with the management to talk about it, West Ham have an option to renew.”
We will have to wait and see what happens.
If West Ham sign Craig Dawson in the summer, however, Balbuena’s days at the London Stadium could very well be numbered. Especially with Frederik Alves, Jamal Baptiste and Aji Alese all coming through the ranks.
The Paraguayan has been a decent servant for West Ham. There surely won’t be too many fans who would be against moving him on in the summer, however.
