Hammers boss David Moyes failed to strengthen his centre-forward ranks at the London Stadium in January.

We are very much reliant on Michail Antonio now. Let’s just hope he remains fit between now and the end of the season because our European charge will be seriously derailed if he doesn’t.

Whatever happens between now and May shouldn’t distract from the need for Moyes to bring a new striker to the club in the summer.

Even if we miraculously end up finishing inside the top four.

ExWHUemployee claims West Ham could move for Ivan Toney

There will undoubtedly be plenty of names on David Moyes’s wish-list.

ExWHUemployee suggested that a move for Brentford hitman Ivan Toney could be on the cards for the Hammers this summer, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast on Thursday night (February 4th):

Ivan Toney from Brentford, he’s scoring phenomenally for them. Originally our relationship with them was a little bit strained but we’ve signed Benrahma from them permanently now, that went smoothly. We’ve also given them Winston Reid for a very good deal, that means that relations have improved.”

The 24-year-old has been in sensational form for Brentford this season.

Toney has scored 20 goals in 26 games for Brentford (Transfermarkt).

The Bees ace has electric pace, is prolific in front of goal and is a real handful for opposing defenders.

He is exactly the type of striker West Ham should be looking to sign. He won’t come cheap though that’s for sure.

So the Hammers owners had better be prepared to spend some serious cash in the summer, if they have genuine ambitions of bringing Ivan Toney to the London Stadium.
