Most West Ham United fans are resigned to the prospect the club will not be signing a new striker on deadline day.
Report: Liverpool to beat West Ham again, this time with deadline day move
West Ham boss David Moyes has been left with injury-prone converted winger Michail Antonio as his only senior forward following the sale of Sebastien Haller to Ajax.
Hammers fans have been calling for unpopular co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold to back Moyes by signing a striker HE wants before the window slams shut at 11pm.

West Ham still a striker light with deadline looming
West Ham had bids for the likes of Youssef En-Nesyri and Boulaye Dia knocked back earlier in the window.
But speaking after the defeat to Liverpool on Sunday, Moyes suggested West Ham would not be doing any business on deadline day ‘unless something changes’ (Evening Standard).
Even the most optimistic West Ham fans don’t foresee a much-needed new arrival.
But reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee has provided a transfer update which may give supporters a faint glimmer of hope.
Speaking on his West Ham Way Patreon site, Ex explained Moyes had set targets the club have thus far failed to sign.

ExWHUemployee gives Hammers fans the faintest glimmer of hope
He added that co-owner David Sullivan has offered to sign a number of alternatives. But Moyes is adamant he only wants his targets – an approach West Ham fans will undoubtedly agree with.
But Ex says the impasse could be cleared should a deal both Moyes and Sullivan like.
“DS believes he has provided options for Moyes to sign up front and he doesn’t want them so do you blame Moyes?,” ExWHUemployee said on his Patreon site.
“Or do you blame DS because Moyes identified targets he wanted and these have not been signed…
“The only thing that could happen is if we are presented a late deal that appeals to both and we could take it.”

West Ham fans feeling let down again
Frustratingly for West Ham fans, reported Hammers target Josh Maja (L’Equipe) looks set for a move to Fulham (Sky Sports).
Another reported West Ham striker target Willian Jose moved to Wolves on loan last week and looked sharp in their defeat to Crystal Palace.
With eight hours to go anything is possible even if it seems increasingly unlikely.
But the clock is ticking. And former Hammers such as Trevor Sinclair and Danny Gabbidon are warning the club they risk jeopardising their excellent season if they don’t get a striker in – read full story here.
