West Ham United risk ruining their best season for 35 years if they don’t sign a striker on deadline day.

Warnock says West Ham man ‘hasn’t got a clue what he’s doing’

That’s according to former Hammer of the Year Danny Gabbidon and West Ham legend Trevor Sinclair.

West Ham boss David Moyes has been left with injury-prone converted winger Michail Antonio as his only senior forward following the sale of Sebastien Haller to Ajax.

West Ham set to leave Moyes a striker light

That was brutally exposed in the 3-1 defeat to Liverpool’s reserves on Sunday.

And it saw renewed calls from West Ham fans for unpopular co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold to back Moyes by signing a striker HE wants before the window slams shut at 11pm.

Now Gabbidon and Sinclair have spoken out on Twitter, saying West Ham’s season could be over if Antonio gets injured.

The duo say all Moyes’s good work could be undone.

Gabbidon and Sinclair fire serious warning to GSB and Moyes over deadline day

“Deadline day and West Ham must get a striker through the door,” Gabbidon said on Twitter.

“If they don’t and Antonio goes lame, that’s pretty much season over. Let’s hope there’s a few irons in the fire! (Like what I did there).”

Sinclair agreed, adding: “100% Danny and what a waste of a fantastic first half of the season that would be!?”

To which Gabbidon also pointed out the potential of doing something special in the FA Cup.

“Definitely Trev,” Gabbidon said.

“You’d feel it would be a big opportunity missed to achieve something really positive. Include the FA Cup in that too.”

West Ham have been linked with a plethora of strikers since selling Haller.

Hammers fans will be furious is striker does not arrive

But Moyes told The Evening Standard after the Liverpool defeat that he is unlikely to sign anyone on deadline day.

It comes after West Ham failed to meet the asking price for the likes of Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri (The Athletic’s David Ornstein).

The prospect of West Ham failing to bring in a forward has not gone down well with fans.

Supporters are furious that the club’s owners have failed to get one of Moyes’s targets signed.

Should the window close with no new arrival and Antonio suffer an injury Hammers supporters will no doubt make those feelings clear.
