West Ham have been linked with a move to sign Millwall winger Jed Wallace and ExWHUemployee has delivered his verdict on those rumours.

The Hammers are eyeing a shock move to sign Millwall ace Wallace in either January or next summer according to a report from Football League World.

With Andriy Yarmolenko’s time at the London Stadium seemingly coming to an end, it would be no surprise to see David Moyes make a move to sign a right winger over the course of the next 12 months.

And Wallace may well be a very smart addition for West Ham.

The 27-year-old is a hard working winger but he has a real end product as well. He can also play in the number 10 position.

Wallace bagged 10 goals and seven assists in 45 Championship games for Millwall last season (Transfermarkt).

And he has begun this term in fine form, racking up three goals and two assist in just six games so far (Transfermarkt).

Wallace is rated at around £10 million by Millwall according to The Birmingham Mail.

Ex delivers verdict on West Ham interest in Wallace

The Hammers insider commented on reports suggesting that Moyes wants to sign the 27-year-old:

“Interesting there is a guy at Millwall, he’s 27, Jed Wallace. I know that we’ve watched him in the past and the fact that outlets are reporting about our interest suggests that the interest is still there. So that will be an interesting one because his contract is up at the end of the season.”

With the rivalry between West Ham and Millwall, it could be suggested that the Lions will be reluctant to sell their best player to the Hammers.

It is worth remembering that we have two ex-Millwall players currently amongst our ranks, however – David Martin and Ryan Fredericks, although the latter was not signed directly from the south London outfit.

It could be out of Millwall’s hands as well if they are unable to tie Wallace down to a new contract.

It will be interesting to keep an eye on this one. Wallace would be a smart signing for the Hammers. Especially on a free transfer next summer.
