According to a report from The Athletic, the Hammers actually made a bid for the pacy young winger in January.

It seemed as though West Ham missed out to Manchester City, however.

That appears to have all changed now though.

The Telegraph are claiming that the 18-year-old’s proposed move to link up with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad collapsed at the medical stage.

And it seems as though that could see West Ham enter the equation yet again.

The 18-year-old Rochdale ace could now be back on the Hammers’ radar after his failed move to Man City.

Reliable West Ham insider Ex suggested that Baah could now end up at the London Stadium, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast last night:

“A youngster we are looking to bring into the academy ranks, he is someone we have targeted before, his move to Man City seems to have failed through, is Rochdale player Kwadwo Baah. He could potentially sign for us. It isn’t close at this point though.”

The teenager would certainly be an exciting addition for West Ham.

Rochdale have experienced a shocking campaign this season and are currently sitting rock bottom of the League One table.

Baah has been arguably the only shining light for the Dale, however. He has three goals and and two assists to his name in 22 league games so far this season (Transfermarkt).

The 18-year-old, who grew up in South London, is a truly top class talent.

Manchester City would not have been in for him if he wasn’t. So let’s hope that West Ham manage to get a deal to sign him this summer over the line.
