West Ham insiders Claret and Hugh may have just hinted that David Moyes will have £45 million to spend on new players this summer.

The news broke yesterday that the Hammers borrowed £120 million for MSD UK Holdings (The Athletic).
Claret and Hugh have explained the details of said loan, however.
It is in fact a ‘loan facility’, which means we have the facility to borrow up to that amount, much like an overdraft.
C&H claims that a £55m short term loan from Media Rights and Funding and a £20m loan from Barclays taken out last year are due to be paid off in July this year.

The new loan facility from MSD UK Holdings will be used to pay off those £75m debts. That will leave up £45m to be used when required to aid with cash flow around transfer windows and other shortfalls in funding.
Is West Ham United’s summer transfer budget £45 million?
From that, we can assume that West Ham boss David Moyes will have around £45 million to spend this summer. In the modern era, that is hardly a lavish war-chest.

Hopefully Moyes manages to sell the likes of Andriy Yarmolenko, Felipe Anderson and Manuel Lanzini in order to supplement the apparent £45 million budget.
Perhaps if West Ham manage to get £30 million plus for those three players, we could have a decent summer budget. As long as those funds are handed to Moyes rather than to pay off outstanding loans, of course.
£75 million plus should be a decent enough figure for Moyes to work with.
At the very least, the Hammers need to sign two centre-forwards, a central midfielder and a left-wing back this summer.
Let’s hope that Moyes can work his magic in the transfer market yet again.
West Ham seem to be on the cusp of something really special. £45 million can’t exactly be classed as backing the manager to the extreme.
If Moyes is thrifty, however, and moves some of the deadwood on, the Scot should be able to build a squad capable of competing on all fronts next season.
