According to a report from the Star, the Hammers have already held talks with the 28-year-old’s agent.
The West Ham fans are completely split on this one.
Some think that Jesse Lingard is a troublesome has-been whilst others believe that he would have a lot to offer the Hammers.

The truth is, on his day, the 24-capped England international is a real player.
Sure, he hasn’t been very consistent over the past 12 months or so. Lingard has hardly been given enough game-time by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make an impression at Old Trafford either, however.
The Man United star is a bundle of energy. He is hard-working and has great technical ability. Yes he isn’t the most sensible of players off the pitch.
A fresh start under his old manager David Moyes at the London Stadium may well bring out the best in him as both a player and a person, however.
David Moyes a big fan of Jesse Lingard
ExWHUemployee told the West Ham Way podcast last night that Moyes is a huge admirer of the Manchester United ace:

“Jesse Lingard of Man United, Moyes loves him, he had a big part in his career. Moyes wants to bring him here. He is a potential signing for us.”
Lingard recently penned a one-year contract extension with Manchester United.
It seems as though that move was only taken by the Red Devils in order to avoid losing the 28-year-old for nothing in the summer, however.
The English play-maker would be a very smart addition for West Ham. Especially if Moyes can pick him up for a bargain fee this month.
