ExWHUemployee claims Chelsea were interested in signing West Ham goalkeeper Joseph Anang

ExWHUemployee has claimed that Chelsea recently showed interest in signing West Ham youngster Joseph Anang.

The 20-year-old stopper is highly-rated in east London.

Joseph Anang has kept 13 clean sheets in 49 combined games for the Hammers’ under-18’s and under-23’s (Transfermarkt).

The 20-year-old clearly has a great future in the game and he recently committed his long-term future to West Ham, signing a new deal that runs until the summer of 2024.

It seems as though things could have been very different, however.

Well respected Hammers insider ExWHUemployee claims that Chelsea were recently interested in signing Anang.

Blues boss Frank Lampard had huge problems in the goalkeeping department at Stamford Bridge until he signed Edouard Mendy.

Ex broke that news well before national newspapers at the time.

Chelsea fans will be well aware of Ex’s credentials.

There is a good chance that the West Ham insider’s claim regarding the Blues’ interest in Joseph Anang had legs.

Thankfully, the 20-year-old stayed in east London. And there is every chance that he will go on to become a truly top goalkeeper in the famous Claret and Blue.
