West Ham are considering a move for Wolves attacker Jorgen Strand Larsen in the January transfer window.

As Niclas Fullkrug is set to leave West Ham, the club want to bring in a replacement who can start regularly and fire them to safety.

Currently, the Hammers appear on course to be relegated from the Premier League, and Nuno Espirito Santo wants to use the winter window to rope in quality.

West Ham have made contact for Jorgen Strand Larsen

David Ornstein reported in The Athletic that the Hammers have made contact for Larsen by launching an enquiry into his services.

The situation is still at an early stage, as there are other sides keen on signing the Norway international.

Hammers News has learned that Wolves want £45million in order to part ways with the 25-year-old in the January transfer window.

It’s also understood that Larsen is open to joining West Ham United, as they have a higher chance of staying in the Premier League than Wolves.

He may also get a pay hike if he moves to the London Stadium in the coming weeks to help the Irons battle relegation.

Why Alan Shearer loves Jorgen Strand Larsen

Alan Shearer has praised the Norwegian attacker in the past for his performances at Wolves.

Last season, back in April, Larsen had scored four goals in three matches for the Molineux outfit, shining in the absence of Matheus Cunha.

Shearer was impressed by how the 25-year-old rose to the occasion, especially in the win over Ipswich, and waxed lyrical over his hold-up play.

He told Match of the Day: “He was a nuisance. His hold-up play was excellent and I thought his touch and his control were superb.

“Wolves didn’t play that well in the first half, but they certainly improved in the second. When you’ve got a guy who’s 6’4, you have to get balls into the box, and they certainly did that in the second half.”

Strand Larsen will be the best striker West Ham have signed in years. He will save them from relegation… 😍

How can Nuno get the best out of Larsen?

While Larsen is good at holding up the ball, he thrives on service more than dropping deep and working openings for himself.

If Nuno is to get the best out of him, he would ideally have two players playing the role of creators so as to set up chances for the Norway international.

The Wolves striker would also get on well with Jarrod Bowen as both of them make intelligent runs off the ball and if they are on the same page, they can create chaos in the final third.

Hopefully, Larsen’s signing also will see Lucas Paqueta returning to his best as he would have a quality number nine to make passes to in the final third.
