A European football expert says West Ham have got one over elite clubs with major signing when speaking live on Sky Sports.
West Ham fans were delighted when the club officially announced the signing of Moroccan centre-back Nayef Aguerd on a five-year deal on Monday.
The defender joins West Ham from Ligue 1 side Rennes in a deal reportedly worth £30m.

Hammers boss David Moyes admitted Aguerd, 26, is a player he has scouted long and hard and is delighted to bring him to West Ham.
Particularly after seeing off late interest in the left-footed centre-back from Newcastle.
Aguerd is said to be the first of six or seven new signings Moyes wants in a bid rebuild this summer.

West Ham will be looking to continue to challenge the top six next season while playing European football again – providing they come through a two-legged Europa Conference League qualifier in August.
Hammers fans can’t wait to see their new signing in action.
And a European football expert claims West Ham have got one over on elite clubs with the major signing when speaking live on Sky Sports on Monday.
Andy Brassell specialises in European football and works as a pundit for the likes of Sky Sports, Talksport, BBC Sport, BT Sport, and ESPN as well as a host of newspapers and magazines.

So when it comes to players arriving in England from other European leagues, Brassell’s opinion carries a lot of weight.
And speaking to Sky Sports News on Tuesday morning (10.30am), Brassell’s Aguerd verdict will have West Ham fans seriously excited.
“He’s someone who is going to lead their defence, it’s an absolutely terrific signing for them,” Brassell said on Sky Sports News.
“Rennes are a team who are very attacking, so when they lose the ball there’s a lot of pressure on that defence. He’s a leader, he’s terrific in the air, he’s very physically strong – everything that should really recommend him to a Premier League team.

“I think, with no disrespect to West Ham, there are some elite Premier League teams who should have been having a look at him.
“I think they’ve done terrifically well to sign him, Rennes were loathe to lose him – maybe he would have stayed if they’d made Champions League but he’ll still get European football at West Ham of course.
“David Moyes deserves to get these extra star signings with the work he’s done improving that squad over the last couple of years and I think Aguerd will do tremendously well for him.”
What an exciting assessment from someone who will have watched Aguerd a lot in his role as a European football expert.
