West Ham United defender Ben Johnson is attracting interest from multiple Premier League and Championship clubs as deadline day approaches.

According to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, there could be a scramble for the signature of West Ham full-back Ben Johnson in the summer transfer window.

Southampton have already been linked with a move to sign Johnson this summer.

And it would be absolutely no surprise to see David Moyes move the West Ham academy graduate on before the transfer window slams shut next Friday…

Dharmesh Sheth: Scramble to sign West Ham player before deadline day, agent already contacted

The Sky Sports journalist took to Twitter this morning to provide an update on Johnson’s current situation at the London Stadium.

Sheth tweeted:

Johnson has regressed so much over the past year or so that a move to the Championship will probably suit him best.

It’s a real shame that the 23-year-old has struggled to kick on for the Hammers, since making his senior debut for the club four years ago.

Ben Johnson looked like the real deal two or three years back, but his performances last year proved that he’s nowhere near good enough to be playing in the Premier League.

I would not be shocked one little bit to see him to see him leave West Ham before deadline day.
