Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has confirmed the exact make-up of the second offer as Arsenal submit a record bid to West Ham for Declan Rice.

Yesterday Hammers News reported that Arsenal had been left nowhere to go in negotiations with West Ham over Declan Rice.

Less than 24 hours later lo and behold the Gunners have submitted their second bid for West Ham’s beloved captain.

After months of speculation Arsenal submitted a formal bid for the Hammers skipper last Thursday.

But it was miles short of West Ham’s £100m plus valuation and was rejected out of hand by the Hammers board.

Reports have emerged since that Manchester City were lurking with serious intent. And Manchester United are said to be desperate to enter the bidding too.

Fans of both West Ham and Arsenal were left incredulous when details of Edu’s first bid to the Hammers were revealed.

But now the Gunners have gone back to David Sullivan and co with an improved bid.

‘£90m record bid but only £75m guaranteed’

“Arsenal expected to make formal bid worth £90m for West Ham United captain Declan Rice,” Sheth reports.

“Arsenal bid would smash their club transfer record. Currently stands at £72m for Nicolas Pepe from Lille in 2019.

“Bid in… worth £90m – £75m guaranteed and £15m add-ons.”

Opinion: Tell the Gunners where to go

Unless Arsenal come up with £90m plus at least £10m in achievable add-ons West Ham and Sullivan should tell Edu and co where to go.

Yes Jude Bellingham’s sale for £115m has – as predicted months ago by Hammers News – brought West Ham’s original £120m valuation into question.

But West Ham hold the cards here with two years remaining – including the automatic option – on Rice’s Hammers deal.

Arsenal have the money, as evidenced by their bids for other players such as Kai Havertz. So make them sweat until they hit the correct figure.
