There is good news for West Ham United fans over the future of star man Declan Rice.

Rice has become West Ham’s star player and most valuable asset.

The midfield enforcer has been one of West Ham’s best and most consistent performer over the last two years.

But that has attracted attention from some of top clubs too.

West Ham star consistently linked with move away

Ex Hammer Frank Lampard wants to bring Rice back to Chelsea where he started out as a youngster, according to a report from Sky Sports.

The 21-year-old has also consistently been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City (MEN).

And last week reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee claimed the trio were all still circling Rice.

But now a report from The Independent claims Rice will remain at West Ham beyond the next window.

And that’s because clubs are reportedly put off by West Ham’s big valuation.

Rice set to stay at West Ham – report

“The Independent has been told that no West Ham players are considered “off-limits” this summer, including £45m club-record signing Sebastian Haller and Spanish midfielder Pablo Fornals,” The Independent reports.

“However, Declan Rice is set to remain in east London, with clubs unlikely to meet West Ham’s asking price considering the financial constraints of the coronavirus crisis.”

It comes after The Daily Mail recently reported West Ham have slapped a £70million price tag on Rice’s head.

West Ham fans and the club’s manager will be delighted at the prospect of keeping hold of Rice.

West Ham’s key man

Hammers boss David Moyes has admitted Rice is his most important player (whufc.com).

And the player himself recently declared he hopes to take over from Mark Noble as West Ham captain one day (whufc.com).

Rice’s West Ham teammate Robert Snodgrass is not sure that will materialise, though.

He told Sky Sports it is ‘only a matter of time until the big guns come calling’ for the young midfielder.
