West Ham are looking to sign Chelsea defender Axel Disasi ahead of the transfer deadline on 2 February.
After spending the entire window looking for a centre-back, the Hammers have failed to get anyone over the line.
They strengthened their attack by signing three forwards, but have not yet announced the signing of a new defender, with the transfer window officially closed.
If you had to rate this signing between 1 and 5, what would you go for? 🤔
We're closing in on a defender, but is he the right one?! 👀
Alex Crook reveals West Ham chances of signing Axel Disasi
Alex Crook, speaking on talkSPORT, issued an update on Disasi’s move to the London Stadium.
Despite his medical being complete, the talkSPORT journalist claims that the deal remains in jeopardy.
It’s understood that the move was not likely to be done ahead of the transfer deadline, which has now passed.
West Ham will be wasting their money by signing Disasi in January…😖
What do you think about this move?
However, the Hammers can still sign him if they submit a deal sheet in time, as that gives them extra time to make the loan move happen.
As things stand, Crook claims that the deal has a 50 per cent chance of going through.
He said: “As far as I’m told, this one is back in the balance. It is unlikely that this deal is done in the next 10 minutes. It is 50/50 as things stand.
“If I were one of the directors, I would be a bit concerned. The player is not entirely convinced.”

Will Disasi be convinced to join West Ham?
It is evident that the French defender does not entirely fancy moving to the London Stadium.
While he does want game time, he thinks that he deserves a club not fighting a relegation battle.
Disasi knows that he would be expected to deliver from day one and help improve the Hammers defence.
There could be clubs abroad, potentially in talks with him and if they give him the nod in the coming hours, he could be moving there.
Nuno Espirito Santo knows that he will have a task on his hands in order to convince the defender to fully buy into his plans.
If he does end up joining, it will be because he did not get any better clubs and is having to settle for West Ham.
As things stand, it does not appear that the Hammers have any replacements lined up, which is undoubtedly a huge risk.
