David Moyes is ramping things up at Everton as he targets a third West Ham star — and fans are all too familiar with how this story ends.

It looks like West Ham will still be hearing the name David Moyes a lot this summer, a year after he left the club.

And not just when it is being rammed down their throats amid the wonderful job he is doing at Everton after leaving the Hammers.

Ever since Moyes returned to football with the Toffees in January, it has felt inevitable he will move for West Ham stars Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal.

The Scot brought the two Czech mates to West Ham and names them among the best and most influential he has managed.

David Moyes even name-dropped Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal when dedicating his OBE in the New Year’s Honours to West Ham.

Speculation has been rife that Soucek will be reunited with Moyes at Everton this summer.

West Ham have to make a host of sales to raise funds for Graham Potter’s much-needed rebuild.

And Soucek is one of the names who will reportedly be sacrificed.

Claret and Hugh recently claimed Soucek is attracting interest from an ‘unnamed Premier League club’ ahead of the summer transfer window.

Widely believed to be Moyes’ Everton, it is reported they will offer the Hammers midfielder £120k per week to join.

Further fuel was added to that particular fire at the weekend when Potter left Soucek on the bench for the entirety of West Ham’s 2-1 defeat at Liverpool.

That was the clearest sign yet Tomas Soucek could be Everton bound this summer as he is clearly not part of Potter’s plans for next season’s starting XI.

Soucek’s best friend, right-back Coufal, has also been linked with the Toffees and will be leaving West Ham this summer.

Coufal was denied a move to Fulham in January and is not part of the new West Ham manager’s plans as he looks to dramatically lower the age of the squad.

Now Moyes wants a third West Ham star at Everton and fans know what happens next.

There is something of a role reversal for the Hammers and Toffees this summer window.

While West Ham face PSR restrictions, The Friedkin Group are ready to hand David Moyes a substantial budget as their own are finally lifted.

There was in inescapable irony when it emerged David Moyes is rivalling West Ham for Liam Delap as he finally looks to sign a striker after dragging his heels in that department in east London.

But Delap looks like a pipedream for either club as several elite clubs circle the Ipswich striker, who has a £30m relegation release clause.

There is even more irony about Moyes’ alternative, though.

Because now he wants Evan Ferguson – and West Ham know exactly what will happen next.

Everton were one of 19 clubs who missed out on Ferguson to the Hammers in January.

Now TEAMtalk claim Moyes has reignited his interest in the 20-year-old Irishman.

West Ham have no obligation or option to make Ferguson’s loan move permanent.

Fans know what happens next if Ferguson joins Toffees

It has been a disastrous spell in east London for Ferguson who is yet to register a shot on target let alone a goal.

After scoring for Ireland in the last international break, Ferguson was handed his first start at Wolves.

But he missed a sitter from six yards out to give the Hammers the lead in a game they lost 1-0.

Ferguson was subbed off at half-time at Wolves and has not been seen since, remaining an unused sub against Bournemouth and Liverpool.

The Brighton-owned forward – once valued at over £100m by the Seagulls – becomes the latest in a long line of forwards to be struck by the West Ham striker curse.

Now Moyes wants to bring Ferguson to Everton, the Hammers know what will end up happening.

Ferguson will go there for a knockdown price this summer and be a revelation.

The cynical West Ham fans out there can just see it now in their mind’s eye; Ferguson leading the line and scoring a hatful of goals as he helps Everton push for Europe.

It is written, as they say.

The report claiming Moyes wants Ferguson says West Ham ‘hold the cards’ in terms of deciding whether they want to keep the towering striker permanently.

But Hammers News understands – and has maintained from the start – there is no desire at the club to do that, leaving the path clear for Everton to sign him.
