David Moyes to make new move for Aleksandar Mitrovic because he is convinced he can be a success at West Ham - journalist claims

West Ham United will make a new move for Fulham outcast Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer.

West Ham could solve problem position by signing ex Chelsea star for free

David Moyes is convinced Mitrovic can succeed at West Ham despite failing once again to prove himself at Premier League level this season.

That’s according to Turkish football reporter Ekrem Konur and a report from The Daily Mail.

West Ham to reignite interest in Mitrovic?

Konur claims West Ham will launch a bid for Mitrovic in the summer.

It comes after West Ham were heavily linked with the Serbian last summer.

“West Ham are keeping a close eye on Aleksandar Mitrovic’s situation,” Konour claimed on Twitter.

“David Moyes believes Mitrovic can succeed at West Ham. Formal contacts are expected to be established between the two clubs in the summer.”

The Daily Mail also claimed Moyes wants the forward at the London Stadium.

Moyes convinced Serbian can be a success for Hammers – journalist claims

“Aleksandar Mitrovic is admired by West Ham manager David Moyes,” the Mail’s report states.

It comes as Moyes looks to add a new forward to this summer after selling Sebastien Haller in January.

West Ham are desperate to seal a permanent deal for Jesse Lingard.

But a striker has to be a priority for Moyes too after another injury plagued campaign for Michail Antonio which – alongside the injury to Declan Rice – looks set to cost West Ham a place in the Champions League.

If the reports about Mitrovic are true, he joins a list of five strikers West Ham are reportedly weighing up ahead of the next window.

West Ham shortlist stretches to six but will Sullivan and Gold back the manager?

The Hammers have been heavily linked with Abdallah Sima, Ivan Toney, Youssef En-Nesyri, Tammy Abraham and Adam Armstrong.

West Ham’s budget for a striker remains to be seen.

Recent reports have cast doubt on the funds available to Moyes, much to the anger of West Ham fans.

Supporters will not forget that West Ham have £20m banked from the Haller sale.

But co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold risk ruining the positivity around the club if they do not provide Moyes with funds to adequately improve the squad.
