The Hammers are in what now looks a straight fight with Tottenham for sixth place and a Europa League spot.

Four points from games against West Brom and Southampton would make this West Ham’s best ever Premier League season.

West Ham one win from European football but likely need two for Europa League spot

But in reality Moyes will be looking for all six if they are to seal a Europa League place and push Spurs into the questionable new Conference League designed for Europe’s minnows.

Whatever happens one win will secure some form of European football for West Ham.

Quite how Moyes has managed it with a squad sorely lacking in several key areas is a minor miracle.

The east Londoners must strengthen in the summer.

Moyes desperately needs reinforcements this summer, particularly a striker and defensive midfield cover

West Ham badly need at least one new striker in the next window. Moyes is also desperate to keep hold of Jesse Lingard.

The Hammers will need central midfield cover and possibly a new left back and goalkeeper too.

There have been concerning rumours recently that Sullivan and Gold will not give Moyes much by way of funds for new signings this summer.

And speaking ahead of West Ham’s trip to West Brom, Moyes admitted that may be the case (Football London).

But he sent a clear warning to Sullivan and Gold that West Ham will have to bring in more players especially if they make Europe.

“I don’t know at the moment,” Moyes said when asked about transfer funds this summer (Football London).

“I don’t think we will have lots of money but I think that will be the same in most clubs.

“But if we are in European football we might decide we need more players.

“Obviously, we would like to make new signings if we can.”

Moyes banked £20m from the sale of Sebastien Haller in January and elected to ring fence it for the summer.

But quality strikers are not cheap and it remains to be seen whether the Scot is backed to bring someone in who can really make a difference.
