David Moyes says his summer transfer plans will mean a lot more competition for one West Ham star in particular next season.
After a hugely disappointing January window the pressure is on the West Ham board to seriously back Moyes in the summer.
Following the arrival of Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky as the club’s second biggest stakeholder in November and Rob Newman from Man City as head of recruitment before that, expectations have risen.

This summer West Ham face a big rebuild, as Moyes has admitted himself.
The Hammers have the second oldest squad in the Premier League and a host of players out of contract, retiring or set to leave as they are not part of the manager’s plans.
With several players already needed in key areas such as up front, central defence and at left-back – it means West Ham will require as many at least six to eight players if not 10 in a the rebuild.

In an interview with The Athletic recently Moyes made it perfectly clear he expects big backing from West Ham’s owners in the summer window.
There has been much speculation over the future of loan star Alphonse Areola.
West Ham fans are desperate to see the club get the Frenchman signed up permanently after his seriously impressive performances on loan from PSG this season.

The Hammers have also been heavily linked with the free transfer signing of Sam Johnstone from West Brom in the summer.
And Moyes says his transfer plans will mean a lot more competition for one West Ham player in particular next season – Lukasz Fabianski.
“Lukasz has played really well this year and we will be keeping him next year – of course we will,” Moyes told the press at the weekend (Daily Mail).

“I think maybe the age Lukasz is at, we have tried to spare him.
“I have to say I think Lukasz, touch wood, has been very good in the league and performed consistently well.
“He might have more competition (next season) and he might be a year older, but at the moment he is doing really well. I actually think Lukasz has been pushed by Alphonse, who has done really well for us in European and cup games as well.”
