David Moyes made a big mistake by not bringing Enzo Fernandez to West Ham when he had the chance, and now he’s closing in on a move to Chelsea.

A Bola report that Chelsea are now in advanced negotiations to sign the 21-year-old Argentininan World Cup star from Benfica.

Chelsea will have to pay a whopping €120 million (£107 million) to prise him away from Benfica (A Bola).

West Ham obviously are no longer in contention to sign Fernandez due to his recent astronomical rise. However, David Moyes did have the chance to bring the Argentina international to the London Stadium way back in January last year, and six months later in the summer (Fichajes).

What a shame that the Scot failed to push through a deal for the 21-year-old central midfielder.

It now seems as though he’s set to go on and become one of the very best players in world football…

Chelsea close in on Enzo Fernandez

A Bola claim that the Blues are in advanced talks to sign the South American World Cup winner.

I just wish that Moyes had acted quicker and brought the Argentinian ace to West Ham last year. Worst ways, we could have sold him on for a massive profit this summer!

He has been described as an ‘unreal’ player by well-renowned Twitter scout account Statman Dave.

Fernandez has bagged one goal and three assists in 13 league games for Benfica so far this season (Who Scored).

During those appearances, the 21-year-old has averaged two tackles and one interception per game. In his 13 league outings for Benfica this term, Fernandez has made 94.3 passes on average and has recorded a completion rate of 89.9% (Who Scored).

The Argentinian ace is an orthodox central midfielder by trade, but he can also operate in the deep-lying central role.

The 21-year-old has a great engine, is technically very good and has an exceptional range of passing.

Enzo Fernandez really impressed for Argentina at the World Cup out in Qatar this winter and unfortunately for us, it seems as though he’ll be joining Chelsea very soon.
