David Moyes is reportedly close to signing Emerson Palmieri and he wants to join West Ham

West Ham have now started talks with Chelsea ace Emerson Palmieri and the 28-year-old apparently wants to move to the London Stadium.

That’s according to a report from The Guardian who claim that the Hammers are closing in on signing the Chelsea star for around £13 million.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth claimed that the Hammers want to sign the Chelsea ace yesterday.

And it seems as though West Ham are making some real progress…

West Ham close in on Emerson Palmieri

The Guardian reckon that the Hammers have opened personal talks with the Italian and could bring him to the London Stadium for just £13 million this summer.

What’s more, Emerson wants to join West Ham over Forest. So that’s good news for us.

Moyes will now what Palmieri is all about. His West Ham team faced him twice in the Europa League last season when he was on loan with Lyon.

Palmieri, who earns £70k-a-week according to WT Foot, is an attacking left wing-back in every sense. He isn’t the best defensively, but is great going forward.

With that in mind, we have to say that signing him will only make sense if Moyes plans to play three centre-backs with two wing-backs this season.

£13 million doesn’t sound like bad value for the Italian. He must be a decent player. He wouldn’t have started the Euro final against England if he wasn’t.

And it goes without saying that the Chelsea man is a lot better than Aaron Cresswell.

The Chelsea star possesses exceptional technique and has an absolute wand of a left foot.

If West Ham end up signing Emerson Palmieri for £13 million, we think that would be a decent deal for the club.

It just makes a nice change to see the Hammers moving swiftly and efficiently in the transfer market.
