Darren Randolph has West Ham United fans on strings right now after dropping his major Jesse Lingard hint on social media.
West Ham’s hopes of bringing Lingard back to the London Stadium had looked dead in the water after Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said he was part of his plans.
But the array of talent ahead of Lingard at Old Trafford was there for all to see in the Red Devils’s 5-1 opening weekend win over Leeds.
Man United show there is no future for Lingard as a regular starter at Old Trafford
With Paul Pogba playing in a new advanced role – the same position Lingard shone in during his scintillating spell at West Ham – game time will be limited for a player who had barely kicked a ball for two years before joining the Hammers.
West Ham have been given renewed hope of signing Lingard over the last few days.
And Scott stoked the fire further still when he posted a picture of a ticking clock in response to a West Ham account urging Lingard to come back on social media.

Lingard was then listed as having joined West Ham on loan on the Premier League’s official website (The Sun).
Hammers assistant boss Stuart Pearce also told talkSPORT that West Ham are still pushing to sign Lingard.
Then West Ham goalkeeper Darren Randolph sent a message to Lingard saying: “Jesse Lingard, I’ll be seeing you soon at Rush Green for training! You know you want to!’”
That post has had West Ham fans on strings ever since.

The Republic of Ireland goalkeeper has also been quoted on social media as having admitted he is trying to convince Lingard to return to West Ham.
“I have spoke to him and I can’t say anything with 100% certainty but agent Darren is trying – I can’t play but I can try recruit,” Randolph is quoted as saying.
And Randolph certainly is trying. That’s after he doubled down by commenting on Lingard’s return to training with a recharged battery emoji and suggestive eyes.
Many supporters are convinced Lingard is now set to return.
And Randolph has West Ham fans on strings at the moment with supporters watching his every move on social.
