The Daily Mail has claimed David Moyes has spoken to them about two reported West Ham United transfer moves.

Moyes has said himself in several interviews that he needed to oversee a big rebuild at the London Stadium this summer.

West Ham have made four signings so far with the 2022-23 season just days away but only three of those are new arrivals. Moyes is said to want another three or four.

After the arrival of striker Gianluca Scamacca, signing a new left-back-cum-wingback and a central midfielder seems to be the major priority for Moyes.

Aaron Cresswell has been a fantastic servant for West Ham and undoubtedly still has a big role to play.

But he simply must be upgraded if the Hammers are going to continue to challenge for the top six.

Daily Mail claims David Moyes has spoken to them about two reported West Ham transfer moves

West Ham have been linked with a host of quality left-backs and left-sided players this summer including Filip Kostic, David Raum and Spaniard Angelino.

The Hammers are also said to be looking to sign one of three central midfielders; Amadou Onana, Piotr Zielinsnki or the “German Busquets” Julian Weigl.

Raum has joined RB Leipzig while Kostic looks set to snub the Hammers.

Lille have so far knocked back West Ham’s interest in Onana, although talks are reportedly ongoing while Napoli and Poland ace Zielinski has snubbed the Hammers.

So what of Angelino and Weigl?

Sport Witness – citing a report from Portuguese publication Record – claim West Ham have made an approach for German international Weigl.

It is believed Benfica might listen to offers of around £12.5m for the 26-year-old.

And La Voz de Galacia claim the Hammers could sign 25-year-old ex-Manchester City ace Angelino following the arrival of Raum at Leipzig.

Mail claims Moyes has spoken to them about reported moves

Now The Mail claims Moyes has spoken to them about two reported West Ham transfer moves.

And the paper says the Scot has told them he is NOT interested in Weigl or Angelino.

“West Ham begin exploring other options after struggling to come to an agreement with Frankfurt over wing-back Filip Kostic… as boss David Moyes dismisses links with Julian Weigl and Angelino…” The Daily Mail reports.

“David Moyes has dismissed links with Benfica midfielder Julian Weigl as West Ham look to bolster their options with the season only days away.

“It had been reported that West Ham had approached the Portuguese club for the former Borussia Dortmund player but those links are wide of the mark, as confirmed by Moyes.

“A move for Angelino, the RB Leipzig left wing-back who departed Manchester City for the Bundesliga outfit, is also unlikely with Moyes distancing the club from the links.”

West Ham kick off the new season against Man City in five days.
