Crystal Palace could be set to win the race for West Ham target Joachim Andersen according to a report from The Telegraph.

Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring the Lyon centre-back to the London Stadium this summer according to a report from The Mirror.

Central defence is undoubtedly an area where West Ham need to improve this summer. It seems as though Crystal Palace could put a spanner in the works for the East London outfit, however.

The Telegraph claims that Palace are now leading the Hammers in the race for the towering 25-year-old.

New Eagles boss Patrick Vieira seems to be overseeing a very exciting project at Selhurst Park. Meanwhile, David Moyes seems to be working with one hand tied behind his back.

The Eagles have already signed two players who were on the Hammers’ radar – Marc Guehi and Michael Olise.

 

The South London outfit are certainly a club on the rise.

The two players mentioned above are excellent young signings with real potential.

If Vieira manages to bring Andersen to Selhurst Park it would be a real coup.

During 31 Premier League outings whilst on loan with Fulham last season, the Denmark international averaged 1.1 tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 4.8 clearances per game. He also won an average of 3.2 aerial duals per match (Who Scored).

He is a truly trop class defender. Andersen could be available for around £25 million this summer (Metro).

Crystal Palace’s gain will undoubtedly end up being West Ham’s loss.
