The West Ham United careers of Crysencio Summerville and Gianluca Scamacca didn’t quite overlap; the former joining from Leeds in 2024, a year after the latter was sold to Atalanta.
But according to reports in Italy, Roma are keen for Summerville to provide the ammunition for the gun-slinging number nine at the Stadio Olimpico next season.
It is no secret that Roma are big fans of the Dutch winger.
If Paqueta left for £35m, how much is Summerville worth right now? 🤑
Roma made an offer in January…
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Italian giants made an ‘attempt’ to sign Summerville during the January transfer window. Roma would bring in Bryan Zaragoza on loan from Bayern Munich after West Ham United rejected their approach.
Zaragoza has struggled and will not be retained, however. According to Il Messaggero, Crysencio Summerville is therefore again high on the wishlist for a side expected to pursue an overhaul of their attacking options.

West Ham United face renewed Roma approach for Crysencio Summerville
West Ham’s number seven is represented by the same agency that brought Donyell Malen to the Italian capital in January. Former Aston Villa benchwarmer Malen is only five behind Inter captain Lautaro Martinez in the Golden Boot race, despite joining midway through the campaign.
Speaking of Malen, Tuttomercatoweb now report that head coach Gian Piero Gasperini wants an alternative up top. Talks are already underway regarding a deal that would reunite Gasperini with his former Atalanta targetman Gianluca Scamacca.
If the legendary La Dea boss gets his wish, Summerville and Malen would be starting 2026/27 either side of Scamacca in a new-look Roma front three.

West Ham would still be below Spurs on goal difference… 😬
Still only 27, Scamacca scored a mere three Premier League goals during his one and only season at West Ham in 2022/23. Despite his obvious talents, he struggled to displace Michail Antonio in David Moyes’ attack.
Scamacca was a man reborn under Gasperini in Bergamo, though. Either side of an ACL injury which wrecked the 2024/25 campaign, Scamacca racked up 19 and 14 goals respectively during his other two seasons under the now-Roma boss.
According to The Telegraph, some of the top Premier League clubs are watching Summerville too. With Jarrod Bowen approaching his 30th birthday, West Ham’s other winger could become the story of the summer at the London Stadium, regardless of whether the Hammers stay up or go down.
