A club are so furious with their as they try to force him to join West Ham United in new talks for Jean-Clair Todibo.
Despite looking almost completely dead, West Ham still have a chance of signing centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo.
As with most West Ham transfers, the move for French defender Todibo has become something of a saga.
Technical director Tim Steidten and new boss Julen Lopetegui identified Todibo as the man they want to partner Max Kilman in a new-look Hammers defence.
It looked like West Ham had got their man when the likes of transfer reporter Dharmesh Sheth claimed a deal had been agreed for West Ham to take Todibo on loan from Nice with an obligation to buy at around £27m.
Hammers Todibo hope still alive
The prospect of bringing the coveted 24-year-old to the London Stadium excited Hammers fans.
But it looked too good to be true when it emerged Todibo was refusing to join West Ham as he holds out for Juventus to make a move for him.
Top West Ham source Sean Whetstone revealed the Hammers hierarchy were ‘gutted’ at the player’s preference having worked hard to get a deal in place.
It looked like the tables turned for West Ham over Todibo when it emerged from Italy that Juve are worried the former Barca flop will have his mind changed before they can get the money together to match the Hammers’ bid.
Well it those concerns may be well founded.

Furious Nice trying to force Todibo to join West Ham
Because Nice are furious with the star as they try to force him to join West Ham in new Todibo talks.
INEOS-owned Nice are not happy with Todibo’s decision to freeze a move to West Ham, as he waits for Juventus to make a bid.
Juventus have already reached an agreement with the entourage of Todibo but can’t afford to meet Nice’s asking price and terms.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and co have been unsuccessful in convincing the ex Toulouse man to move to east London. So much so it has caused tension between the parties.
That’s according to a new report from L’Equipe which states Nice ‘will not give up at any cost’ in trying to change Todibo’s mind.
New talks aimed at changing defender’s mind on reluctant Juve
The outlet says the financial details are very important to Nice – who must pay Barcelona 20% of any profit made on the sale.
With that in mind high level talks continue to try and get Todibo to agree to join West Ham instead.
Juve have already signed a centre-back-cum-left-back after landing Juan Cabal from Inter Milan.
New manager Thiago Motta is said to have other priority positions first and must sell to buy.
The longer the saga drags on the less hope the Hammers will have as Juve are planning on offloading a number of players, including West Ham target Matias Soule.
So the coming days will be key if this deal is to be turned in West Ham’s favour.
According to L’Equipe tense talks continue with Todibo to try and change his mind.
And there’s further hope for Steidten and Lopetegui from Italy where Corriere Dello Sport claim Juve are demanding Nice lower the price for any chance of a deal.
It feels like this weekend will be make or break for West Ham’s hopes.
