'Close': West Ham insider says Moyes is on the verge of completing Thilo Kehrer signing

West Ham insider Sean Whetstone and writer for Claret and Hugh has claimed that West Ham are in fact closing in on the signing of Thilo Kehrer.

There have been a lot of conflicting reports about he 25-year-old centre-back over the past few days.

Reports emerged in Germany over the weekend that West Ham were actually struggling to convince Kehrer to move to the London Stadium.

And then yesterday, Jacob Steinberg contradicted those claims by suggesting that Kehrer is actually closing in on a move to the London Stadium.

Just this morning, Estadio Deportivo suggested that Sevilla actually have an agreement in place with the German.

Talk about a topsy-turvy rollercoaster transfer saga! Ands now it seems as though West Ham are in fact leading the race for the PSG star…

West Ham insider makes Thilo Kehrer claim

West Ham insider Sean Whetstone and writer for Claret and Hugh has claimed that the Hammers are close to sign he 25-year-old centre-back for £15 million (£10 million + £5 million in add-ons).

Let’s hope that this latest update is in fact true! We need Kehrer at the London Stadium as a matter of urgency now.

Kehrer is absolutely rapid and is one of Germany’s fastest players according to Sport Mob. When he was at Schalke, the Bundesliga’s official website described him as a potentially ‘world-class’ player.

He’s a three time league winner, having enjoyed great success at Parc des Princes.

The 25-year-old is an exceptional passer of the football as well.

In 27 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG last season, he made an average of 43.1 passes per match and recorded an incredibly successful completion rate of 94.7% (Who Scored).

Standing at 6ft 1in tall, Kehrer isn’t the tallest of centre-backs, but he possesses an incredible leap, similar to that of Manchester City defender Nathan Ake.

The German’s ability to play in a variety fo defensive positions will obviously appeal to David Moyes.

Kehrer currently earns around £80k-a-week at PSG (Salary Sport). That kind of salary certainly won’t break the wage structure at the London Stadium.

Hopefully West Ham wrap up a deal to sign Thilo Kehrer asap. He’s exactly what we need right now.
