That’s according to ESPN who claim that the 28-year-old has no interest in returning to Old Trafford to play a bit-part role for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Lingard joined the Hammers on loan from Man United in January.

And he has made a huge impact at the London Stadium already.

The 26-capped England international has racked up five goals and two assists in just seven games for West Ham.

His fine form has allegedly made Manchester United think twice about letting him leave in the summer.

In fact, the Sun claims that the Red Devils are ready to offer Lingard a new three-year deal in order to keep him at Old Trafford.

ESPN claims that Lingard has no interest in returning to Man United to play a bit-part role. He would have to usurp Bruno Fernandes for a start! He is allegedly ‘desperate’ to play regular football at this stage of his career.

It is also suggested that that the Hammers have already decided that they will try to sign the 28-year-old permanently in the summer.

David Moyes absolutely must sign Lingard permanently this summer. The thought of not having Jesse at the London Stadium next season doesn’t bear thinking about.

And ESPN’s latest claim regarding the attacking midfielder’s current situation is certainly good news for West Ham.

There will surely be other clubs interested in signing the Man United owned ace. That can be expected given his fine recent form. Jesse seems to be loving life in East London, however. And that should stand us in great stead come the summer.
