West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta faces a very uncertain future at the London Stadium as things stand.
Lucas Paqueta joined West Ham from Lyon in the summer of 2022, and he has already made a huge impact at the London Stadium, although it must be said that he’s been well off the boil recently.
On the whole though, the Brazilian has been exceptional for the Hammers, and it’s no surprise that Manchester City are keen to sign him.
Paqueta is a hugely important player for West Ham, and he is undoubtedly one of the first names on David Moyes‘ team-sheet.
So with that in mind, the Scot obviously wouldn’t want to lose him. That said, if Man City come knocking for the 26-year-old, it will be impossible to resist their overtures.
And Moyes seemingly has a plan in place should the worst happen…

Clearest indication yet that Lucas Paqueta will leave West Ham
According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Hammers are lining up a move to sign Rayan Cherki from Lyon, and in fact, it is claimed that we’re leading the race for his signature.
The 20-year-old is a real talent, but he has struggled this season and has zero goals and just one assist in 14 games for Lyon. Last term he bagged four goals and six assists in 34 Ligue 1 games, so he clearly hasn’t hit those heights this time around (Transfermarkt).
The France under-21 international is an attacking midfielder by trade, but he also operates out on the left wing – two positions where Paqueta is deployed for West Ham.
Cherki is a superb young player, but I just don’t see how he would get into our side right now…unless someone is moved on of course.
Lucas Paqueta is the prime candidate to leave West Ham next summer, as links with Manchester City refuse to go away.
And if the Hammers sign Cherki in January, I would not be surprised one little bit if it was a case of Moyes getting a replacement for Paqueta through the door so that he has the second-half of the season to get up to speed with the way we play before the Brazilian eventually leaves us in the summer.
