Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley is ‘in the sights’ of West Ham ahead of the summer transfer window.

That’s according to Italian publication Calcio Mercato who claims that the Hammers are keen to sign the Blues ace this summer.
David Moyes will need to bolster his midfield ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
In fact, the addition of a central midfield should be featuring highly on his list of priorities.

Signing Barkley would be a highly questionable move from West Ham, however.

We think that David Moyes could do a lot better than signing the 33-capped England international, however.

Barkley is very injury prone and he just hasn’t fulfilled his potential since joining Chelsea from Everton in January 2018 for around £15 million (BBC).
West Ham should be prioritising the additions of two strikers, a defensive midfielder, a left-back and a centre-back this summer.
The Hammers quite simply don’t need to sign Barkley.
Certainly not for the £30 million that it would allegedly take to prise him away from Stamford Bridge (The Express & Star)!
There is far better value to be had in this market.
