Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has joined West Ham in the race to sign Independiente del Valle midfielder Moises Caicedo, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

The Hammers were first linked with a move for the 19-year-old earlier this week by the Daily Record.
David Moyes faced a tough challenge as it was with Manchester United keen to sign Moises Caicedo (Daily Record).
And it may well now be mission impossible for West Ham.

The Daily Mail claims that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard wants to bring the Ecuadorian starlet to Stamford Bridge in January.
With the Blues and Red Devils in the race for Caicedo’s signature, the Hammers will have to move heaven and earth to bring him to east London.
West Ham may well be able to offer the teenager more regular first-team action. Even so, however, it will be incredibly tough for us to beat the two Premier League giants to his signature.

Missing out on Moises Caicedo would be a big blow for West Ham.
The 19-year-old has racked up six goals and two assists in 30 games for the Ecuadorian outfit (Transfermarkt).
Caicedo is most comfortable when playing in the holding central midfield role. He has also flourished in the box-to-box role, however.
The teenager is highly energetic and is an aggressive presser according to the Daily Record. So he would suit David Moyes’s system at West Ham perfectly.
With Chelsea boss Frank Lampard allegedly sniffing around, the Hammers must act fast. Caicedo could be a huge star of the future. West Ham’s task of signing him has just got a whole lot harder, however.
